The Egan Maritime Institute (EMI) is a Nantucket-based non-profit organization founded in 1989 dedicated to preserving and celebrating the island's rich maritime culture and history. It offers educational programs, manages the Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum, and promotes stewardship of the sea through community events and research.

For sixty five summers, I have been blessed with my personal relationship on Nantucket. As a continuum for personal development and self-discovery, I did not have to look far for a place we could make a contribution, impression, and a legacy in Maritime Excellence. Egan Maritime Institute of Nantucket is the proper collaborator to partner with for the continuance of Maritime Education. Egan has worked hard to make the curriculum relevant, meeting today's standards in experiential learning.
